Here’s a summer garden installation, perfect for a tepid July in England. These plywood structures in the photograph are Ice Skating shelters by Patkau Architects, 2012, Winnipeg, on show at the V&A, London and part of “Plywood: Material of the Modern World”.
Light, strong and versatile, plywood is the surprising material celebrated in this world first exhibition. Highlights include: a Singer sewing machine with moulded plywood cover, 1888 and the DCM chair, designed by Charles and Ray Eames, 1947.
