V&A Back-Packs are Brill!
We have just returned from a back-packing adventure at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London. For a few hours we became time travellers exploring creativity and material culture in the Medieval and Renaissance galleries of the museum.
Young visitors to the V&A can borrow a specially designed Back-Pack to explore specific displays and rooms through creative and fun multi-sensory activities. Back-Packs are available every day from the Learning Centre.
The Back-Packs enabled us to focus our visit in an enormous museum, which would otherwise be difficult to navigate, and gave us a framework for engaging with the objects on display. It was fun to explore the activities such as mirror reading Leonardo da Vinci’s tiny backward handwriting in his famous notebooks or don a 15th century hat!
A great trip for kids and a brilliant way to experience the largest collection of design in the world.
