tweetkids cookshop: gingerbread from timbuktu!

Cut it out!

Yes, the aim of today’s workshop was to cut as many spicy gingerbread biscuits as possible, and we made a lot! Having prepared some lovely moist dough beforehand (with essential ingredients: ground cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and syrup), all we had to do was roll out the dough and cut away (snowmen, father christmas’s, shooting stars, bells, teddy bears, and our old favourite, gingerbread men).

The recipe was drawn from a cleverly illustrated version on the Timbuktu ipad app, Sunday 9th December 2012. The app offers games, activities, stories, and ideas for everyday of the year.

The freshly cut biscuits were popped in the oven for 12 minutes. During the wait, we prepared handwritten BISCUITS labels on brightly coloured paper, for the post-production work, ready to take home to mum and dad, brothers and sisters.
