A year in a maze @asilonidodeigirasoli
A group of nursery school children played their way through spirals, mazes and labyrinths in the quest to discover the story of a very special Greek myth: Theseus and the Minotaur.
Here, we also met Ariadne, in charge of the labyrinth. According to the myth which was the most known, she fell in love with the Athenian hero Theseus, who was coming to Crete to kill the Minotaur and to rescue the Athenian youth. Ariadne helped Theseus by promising her to take her to Athens as his wife. She gave him two special gifts — a sword and a clue of thread — to find a way back from the Cnossian Labyrinth after killing the Minotaur.
Here is the Minotaur next to Ariadne!
Around and around we played through the maze with different tactile materials: wool, felt, cotton, and other fabrics.
Circling and spiralling with crayons we made new paths and got quite lost!
We came back safe and sound with a great story to tell of our mythical adventures in the nursery.
What a wonderful journey in and out of a labyrinth of creativity with Alessandro, Samuele, Federico, Matilde, Achille, Dario and Alessandro!
