When did you last doodle?
This is the question. Instead of reading numerous books on design, business and the future of education, or about how amazingly therapeutic colouring books can be… this summer, I doodled.
I doodled in the car, on a boat and at the beach.
What I find curious about doodling is not the final result: the shapes, colours and lines, techniques or tools, but the very act of doing it. It’s not art, or graphic design or illustration, but it is a representation of thought. That’s it. Of course I care what it looks like, to a degree, but I care more about where, why and when I did it, and the reflections and choices I made – in short, the thinking it helped me do.
Doodle something today. It makes you think.
