tweetkids cookshop: super squashy smoothie

supersmoothie

Today’s workshop began with a read of “The Runaway Dinner by Allan Ahlberg.

A wonderful ‘true story’ about a plate of dinner including a sausage, fries, carrots and peas, that quite literally runs away, together with plate, knife and fork, table and chair! Here’s an image from the book:

We moved on to making our super squashy smoothie, a special 5’o’clock teatime snack.

The best thing about this smoothie is that you have to ‘squash’ it! There were lots of giggles while we squashed our banana and pear mix and then mixed in some milk and honey.

We made illustrated recipe books with the ingredients and method to accompany our smoothie experience.

Thanks for all the squashing and laughter!
